Does anybody have any sugestions for a disc brake conversion? I have a 1951 1/2 ton, that is going to be a daily driver. I want keep the straight axle and switch to disc brakes and 4 3/4 bolt pattern.

If you've done this, please let me know your thoughts...

I am not opposed to the idea of converting all four wheels, MC, bearings, and all the brake lines. Most importantly, is there any Vendors I should stay away from?

Thanks in advance!

Burrell,
Check these guys out.
I am planning on getting some of their kits.
Never used them, but they seemed to be engineered well enough...

Thats the one I'm thinking about getting. Are you going to do all four wheels or just the front?

Burrell,

Recommend Engineered Components, Inc.

Have done 2 conversions using their kits and components and it is good stuff!

Call them, there is more to converting than just a kit. They will help you get ALL the needed stuff you need from the pedal to the pads and have answers for all your questions.
All they do is brakes!

I used the kit from Chevy Duty to do my fronts. At the same time I converted to a dual master and reran all the lines.

I already had the rear axle from a '73 Chevelle wagon under the rear, and since the Chevy Duty kit is based on mid-70's mid-size GM I was able to buy '73 Chevelle master cylinder, rotors and calipers to use with the porportioning valve I'd kept from the wagon.

I'm happy with my conversion and have been driving it almost daily for more than 18 months.

It's true. I really don't do anything but browse the Internet looking for trouble...
