I think I've heard (or read) that some roller rockers (1.75s I think) will work under the taller MM valve cover *IF* you grind down the outer ends of the #1 and #6 exhaust rockers. Is this true?

Thanks!

You plan on spending close to three bucks on a set of rollers and then grind the corners off?????? You and Ken were talking about rollers awhile back. He was going to go for the stainless Crowers because he thought they might fit inside the stock type cover. Maybe he'll let us know how that's coming along.
I decided to use the Crane Gold Rockers. I couldn't stop myself.
I had no plans of using a chrome or aluminum cover so that was no problem.
I made a cut on the pass side of the cover from the top down about 3/4 of the way. Folding that forward squared off the front of the cover and left a 1/2 wide gap on the side. I did a little hammer work and welded a filler strip. I stayed about a 1/2 inch away from the gasket area. I then did the same on the other end. The height isn't a problem.
The evening I put the head on, I just had to see what this thing was going to look like with the rockers on. Take note, there is not one nut holding anything on. There are studs front to back for the manifolds.
One other very important thing. I had to take .025" off the stud bosses to clear the bottom of the rockers.
