I have these two tires, they are practically brand new, and they are M-606 31X11.50 R15 LT's. They are wider than the origionals by at least two inches. My concern is the clearance the backside of the tire and the back of the wheel well. I am afraid that they would rub and cause all kinds of head-aches. Has anyone put tires like these on thier truck? if yes were any modifications made?

Best way: Mount them up while you wait, see if they fit. If so, balance them and enjoy! If not, unmount them and yer only out a couple bucks and an hour of time. I'd bet they'd fit fine

The truck sure looks mean with those on it too. I can't imagine that your truck would be much different than mine.

Would tubbing out the wheel wells be cost effective? Or should I stick with the same size tires I have now? I would lose about two inches of bed space between the wells, and im trying to keep the truck mostly origional, but small modifications I dont mind. Any thoughts?

#26730 12/10/2001 4:08 AM | Joined: Apr 2001 Posts: 39 Shop Shark | | Shop Shark Joined: Apr 2001 Posts: 39 | gmc the other problem you may have is lower shock mounts i had to move mine inside the fram rail .i just swaped sides with lower plates and boxed the fram in about 6 inches and bolted stock shock mounts to them it will give you about 2 inches clearance

I'll probably make my own mounts to get correct pinion angle and clearances. Pics are a great idea, let me work on that and post them in here for all to see

LT235/75R15 outside diameter is 28.8 with section width of 9.1. The 31x11.5R15 shows an outside diameter of 30.5 with section width of 10.8. That's about 5/8 of an inch on each side. I would go out and measure the clearance now to have an idea of what will be needed.
