She started life as a "Sealand" fire truck. The number stamped on the plate just behind the distributor is TB I58739 I can't find this on this site or Inliners. Help please.

What you need for the Inliners site is the casting number, should be farther aft, usually just above the starter. The numbers are part of the block casting, and protrude from the block. We'll go easy on you, just don't stick in a fjord engine.

I can't find any other numbers on the starboard side of this thing unless the starter motor is bolted over it! However I did find a casting number on the port side way back on the flang thingy that the tranny attaches to. 839257.  It don't match any numbers on the inliner page Close but not quite. Seems to fall in the 42 and up range. I also checked out GMC numbers not even close. Help! Ron :confused:

I don't know why I didn't post my engine pictures. Right now I'm 150 miles away from the truck and my own PC so it will be a while before I can rectify that oversite. The motor whatever it is is really jammed in the compartment. (less than half an inch between radiator and fan). It has the classic two bolts through the valve cover and some plates screwed to the side of the motor through which the spark plugs are installed. At any rate I will post some pics ASAP Thanks Ron

If you copy and paste the link into your browser and hit "go" it works fine, but if you click on it in SBP I get the same error message. Try cut and paste. Alls I know is it's not a GMC engine and why would anyone put a non-GMC engine in a stovebolt?  | | |
