Hey Guys! Did Chevy or GMC ever sell dually suburbans. Today on Plantation Road in Roanoke, Virginia, I ran in behind a Suburban with extended rear fenders and dual wheels. When I passed it, a quick look showed what I took to be a replacement mesh grille but the grille opening looked like about a 1975. Did someone put a dually pickup rear and wheels under a burb or did GM build it?

I agree with TooMany on this. There's no listing in any of my guide for a dually 'Burb. I've seen a few that were conversions, some using a dually diff and wheels, others with the JCW Add-A-Dually el-cheapo conversion. Definetly an odd looking setup.

I only remember seeing one, and it appeared to be an adaptation of the dually pickup stuff to the Suburban. At the moment I can't recall if it was the '73 to '87 body or the '88 to '97 (?) body.

I think it's a shame to have dually's with a suburban!
I mean by the time you line them back to back and then drive off ten paces and then try to turn around real fast and then shoot at the other, you could ruin some good sheet metal.

I have a 84 3/4 ton 4wd. burb with a 540 cid big block best truck I have ever had put 8 bodys in it hook up my offshore cat and away we go It is running 35" radial claws by MT. and yes it is a you built it the best convertion kit comes from troy mich. I did mine 18 years ago

The few I've seen were convertered by a company name "Choo Choo". I almost bought each of them but decided to just buy a crew cab dually for practicality purpose.

I always thought the '80s conversions looked awesome...big and burly.
I've often thought it'd be great to take a '60-'66 1-ton panel, put rear passenger doors on it like a crew cab, the first section of side glass from a Suburban, move the rear axle back so there isn't so much quarter panel overhang behind tha axle, put a dually axle under it and narrow a set of step side fenders to cover them. The section of glass behind the second doors wouldn't extend all the way back to the end of the truck--there'd still be a couple feet of closed off cargo body.
Of course, if I had this it would mean I won the lottery, so I'd use it as a tow rig to haul race cars to Mexico for the La Carrera and to Newfoundland for the Targa race.

there's a choo choo dually burb about 5 minutes from me . I have always thought it was cooool looking. looks like it could pull a house and still be city enough to go to town
