Howdee folks! Been away awile, due to various things, but back now, with a new toy and a couple of questions.

I just brought home my '57 GMC 100 panel truck, and after I got the trash and "stuff" out, noticed a storage compartment/area under where the passenger seat would normally sit. Approx 18" x 18" x 6" deep, open to the step area and on top. I'll try to get some pics of this soon.

Being my 1st panel, I've never seen this before. The frame is notched out for clearance, with a piece of frame type steel welded/riveted under the existing frame. Is this usual for a panel/'burb?

thanks folks

I agree, I have a '59 and I have looked at many others, but have never seen that before. It has to be a homemade storage compartment.
