Just picked up Truckin' magazine at the store (vol.31, no.3). It has a great rebuilt original '53 Chevy Suburban in it. Very Clean & Very Nice! Eric Parsons, Valley Village, CA. Tan with stock brown interior except some nice plaid on the seat tops. Nice vintage 1953 fishing by a lake pictures. Very Cool roof rack!

Burbs Rule! Are you out there, Eric?

I almost bought a 65 GMC with a roof rack. I would love to find one for my 59. The one at Classic.com is a bit bulky for me. Any other vendors out there?

My wife picked up the issue of Truckin' magazine for me that has the 53 restored sub in it. $5.99. $6.99 Canadian. Very cool sub, absolutley beautiful job. They devoted 3 whole pages to it. However I think the magazine itself leaves a lot to be desired. 274 pages of which 173 pages are ads. I counted 1 tech article and most feature articles are about late model trucks with bolt on plastic and billet this and billet that. One article on a customized 40 phrd 1/2 ton. 7 pages. The rest of the mag is articles on late model trucks with flames, 24" wheels and 1/8 ' ground clearance. Does anyone really drive these abortions? I can get more tech stuff out of a J. C. Whitney catalog. Interspersed between billet stuff is a lot of sweet young things displaying a lot of silicone and stilletos. Who buys this magazine? I must be getting old. This mag is totally laughable. Just my .02 worth. What do you guys think?

Yeah, it's pretty lame. Just a cash cow for the editors, models agencys, advertisers and builders of these questionable trucks. Who would really dump tens of thousands into a totally personal statement and then chance having it trashed at an intersection by a yo-yo in a '72 Taurus?

Ever notive that Classic trucks and Custom Classic Trucks are the same magazine?
Seriously. They should be called Overly customized/modified classic trucks and way overly modified classic trucks.

Yes I subscribe to both and yes I get more frustrated with every issue.
