Just thought Id let ya'll know about a 68 GMC Panel that I saw today....If your interested I could probably get some pics together and post them up...I believe he just wanted $850 for it..(I didnt stop and look as Im not to interested in Panels, but I could do so if anyones interested in it)....I dont know the guy selling it...just giving ya'll a heads up.

I wish I hadn't seen that. I don't need to know about things like that sitting around.

Ooops...I stopped by and took a better look at this thing...

Its a 66 GMC Panel, not a 68, needs a motor, used to be a Volunteer fire department truck, as the lettering is still visible on the sides. The body is in decent shape, a little rust through under the doors, rest of the metal looks pretty solid though.

That's better. I can pass on a '66 a lot easier.

Let me get this straight -- you'd pass on a '66 SWB truck but you'd take a '68 LWB? What's wrong with this picture?! :p

Where did you get SWB and LWB out of it? It is a panel truck. A '68 GMC panel is like a needle in a haystack. Not so with a '66.

Aside from giving you a hard time, [img]http://www.norcalspeedshop.com/oldtruck/forum/smilies/action_duck.gif[/img] I was simply meaning to say that that the '68s were -only- built on a long chassis, unlike the '60-66s. Unusual -- I agree... but despite their rarity, I think that the short trucks fetch a higher price because more people are attracted to them.

Kinda like the Fleet Option GMCs (which I happen to like): they're unusual but not particularly desirable.
