Sunday I had to take the daughter back to her place after church, so I got back a little later than usual. The boy (14) said some guys had been out there looking at my panel. I don't mind that unless they start opening the hood or doors, but he said they just peeked through the windows. (It was parked on the street.)

Later on we were out doing some yard work and I sent the boy to get something out of the panel. While he had the back doors open the three guys showed back up. He sent them to me and we talked. It seems one of them thinks that my ton dually '47 panel, all street rodded out would be just the image he wants to project when he pulls into a customer's driveway for his interior decorating business. He was talking tube frame, and the whole 9 yards. I told him he was talking $30 grand. He seemed to think that I might be right, but thought he could call in a few favors to cut that down some. Anyway, I shot him a price that he would be a fool to take, and I would be a fool to pass up.

I hope I scared him off. I don't want to go back to square one looking for a truck.

I was offered 20,000 for my 52 GMC a couple summers ago. I know the guy had the money and I think he was serious. My wife and I have owned this truck for a long time and we did all the work ourselves, yada yada yada. Long story short, I guess there is a price on the truck but that wasn't it. (it might be worth 12)
what do you think?

After Barrett-Jackson I've upped the price on my Suburban to $75,000. No one in their right mind would pay that, but if someone is that nuts I'll take the money and find another one!

I figure $10K is a nice enough profit to go looking for another. I really didn't want the ton dually on a panel, but it is so rare that I couldn't pass it up. Hafta remember. Mine is still the before picture. All I've done so far is make it safe and roadworthy.

Instead of starting a new thread, I'll just add this story to this one.

I was rolling down Blairs Ferry Road on my way home from work the other day when I spied a little girl, in the Happy Chef parking lot, standing up in the seat of her mom's car with her head and shoulders out the sunroof, pointing at my truck with the biggest smile and look of excitement on her face. I gave her a big wave and just kept going. I was tempted to wheel in there and let her see it, but I didn't want her mom thinking I was some kind of wierdo or something.
