The Stovebolt Site Forums The Parking Lot Panels 'N Burbs Headlight switch removal

I need help on getting this switch out. It needs cleaning badly.
Can't figure out how to get it out. Found the release spring/button for the shaft but need more info.

Turn the headlights on (pull the switch all the way out). Then depress the release button and pull the knob and shaft out of the switch. Then unscrew the ferrel (sp?).

Disconnect the wires and remove the switch. Earlier trucks used screw-on connections, later are a big plug, I don't know what yours is.

I figured it out (thanks anyway). The problem was it was in pretty tight. The BIG problem is I flaked off a big piece of paint (grrrrr!!).

Cleaned it up and put it back together and she works great!

'course, now you have to convince Kelly that everything is fine on the truck and something like that will NEVER happen again

I love those switches. They can corrode, but are built so tough that a bit of cleaning and you're good for another 50 years.
