How difficult is it to repair rusted out spots on the beltline of a 41. Dave

get patch panels. It's much easier to fix that way. There are patch panels just for the belt line.

No better smell than that of fresh paint. I've been building and painting cars/trucks for 47 years. Not gonna stop now.

Homer52 the repairs are not that difficult if you
have moderiate to good welding skills. I don't know of any vendor who makes patch panels for the belt line on the 41-46 trucks best option is to find a donor cab or make your own, not that big of a project if you can find a sheetmetal shop with a bead roller with a large enough die to reproduce the bead. If you find a vendor who has patch panels let us know.

I just looked at Jim Carter and it appears that they do have the patch panels and I think they are for 41-46. Someone else should check this out for sure, maybe I can call them later. Dave

Well, I just called them and they do have patch panels for the 41-46 beltlines, corner areas and under rear window, they fit earlier trucks but I forgot what years they said. Dave

the patch panels fit from 39 to 46. i bought the panels from jim carters and will be installing them soon. one thing about them is the corner patch panels do not have the swoop in the beltline like the original truck has. you either have to shrink and stretch them to get that original look, or use them as is and make the beltline go straigt across from door to door. i will probably make it go straight across, as i dont want to turn my corner patches into $160 of scrap steel practicing with the shrinker- stretcher .
