Done a search but no luck. I have aftermarket (thin) glass in my '53. It has wing glass.

I need to replace the roll up glass on the driver side. I got as far as removing the screws and bolts from the wing glass.

I'm stuck there. Not sure as how to get regulator rod off of bottom window channel. Sure could use some help..........Thanks Brent

Brent. I have the tire problem but hopefully I can help you with your door. Is your window assembly out of the door? It lifts up and out diagonally once you have undone the bolt on the bottom of the front glass guide (vertical). The regulator bolts should be out. Now its been a while but don't the rollers on the regulator slide out the end of the channel? I recently did my 49 and did my 53 about 10 years ago so that part is a bit vague. Do you have a shop manual, they help.

Strange enough tires is my life. I design, build, test, and hopefully improve them.

I still am not sure as to the cause of your problem. Tube type tires will most often leak out of the valve stem hole if they get a puncture anywhere in the tread or sidewall. Tubless tires mounted on older wheels may experience leakage in the stem hole area as a result of rusted wheels or old valve stems. If either is the case visit a reputable tire store and ask for oversize tubeless valves.

As to my problem. I did remove the inner window trim, vent glass retainer screws, bolts. At that point I pulled the vent glass frame inwards towards the cab. I then was concerned that I wasn't sure as to get the door glass out. The metal track on the bottom of the glass has no opening to get the regulator wheel out of except on the end of the track.

I can only assume that I am to manipulate the window tracks out towards the interior and roll the glass up out of the track?????????

I eventaully stopped as I was concerned that I would completly break the glass.

It comes out exactly the way the shop manual shows. With the vent frame out, the window is raised some and then it is tilted upwards and removed. I just put both my doors back together and I thought the manual was quite good on this.

Hope you got some help with that window. It does at time seem like you are going to bend it too far but it will come out.
Good point about my tire. These are tube type tires. Air is escaping from the hole in the wheel but I thought that maybe the valve was to blame. I can now see where it could be anywhere.
