64CHEVYREBEL,

This might not be what you were asking...it's all about weight transfer. If you raise the nose of the car, under hard acceleration off the line, the weight is thrown onto the back wheels for added traction. At least this is how I understand it. I have always loved the high stance and gasser straight axle look...it's mean!

Raising the front is basically for weight transfer to the rear wheels upon launch.
You would have to remove your current front suspension and install a straight axle with leaf springs.

64chevyrebel.Back in the 60's the slicks were hard wall with a width of about 9"The front end was raised to preload the back.On the launch the weight would transfer back even more. The cars used were Willys,Chevs,Studebakers, which had straight axles in them.Later other cars had straight axles in an attempt to loose weight. This is where I'll add that the cars did not handle worth a darn. But since all the were about the same, the playing field was level. When the softwall slick was introduced in the late 60's,that was the end of the highboy gasser.Down into the weeds went the racecars. If you want to win races, don't do it.There is a lot of suspension updates for your truck. If you are going for the "LOOK"of an old gasser, then fine. Please, realise that the old cars didn't handle well, that's the reason that they race a nostalgia races not NHRA,, Boyd

It is not my intension to give you a bad time, but I don't understand how you want a lowbuck sleeper that looks like an old style racecar. My understanding of a sleeper would be a stock looking truck with a hell of a motor in it.Leave the front end alone and deal with the rear suspension.Traction is what you want
