I finally got to start working on my 4t6 after a little hiatus with overtime, flipping a house for my eldest and other BS. Got a lot accomplished this week. Motor, tranny and cab mounted and couldn't resist trial hanging a little sheet metal. I picked out two colors for interior. It feels good to make a little progess. Pics below

Dan,
How are you holding the sound deadener in place? Glue or just fitting in tight?

All,
Thanks for the kind words. It just seems like it has been forever. But the more I get done the more anal I seem to get. That's good and bad. To answer questions. Reflectex was the insulation bought at either Home Depot or Lowes for about 20 beans. 3M spray adhesive was used to hold in place. I need to figure out the headliner cause I need to build out near the doors to accomodate the glue in headliner I found at a local fabric shop. I was hoping for a spring/summer test drive but that's more likely next year. Thanks to all here for support, ideas and friendship.

Dan,

Looks like you are doing EXCELLENT work.
It shows that you are committed to doing a quality job.

I even saw a picture in your album which looked like you had sheet-metal and body parts in your bedroom with you. Do you sleep with your pickup body parts??? If so, I'd say you have a disease. A "truck disease" !!!

Again NICE job!
Brian

Wow. How exciting! That's gonna be some sweet ride, Dan!

You really *did* do a super clean job with the insulation, Bro'! Way to go!

I hope you didn't use 3M Super 77 ... it will *not* hold up in the cab -- especially overhead. What you want to use, exclusively on interior stuff, is High-Temp adhesive.

I saw that vinyl hanging over the door, too -- nice colors! Are you gonna be sewing all your own stuff? I just bought an industrial sewing machine and am loving the process! I'm sewing elk hides for my truck:

Again Thanks,
From the bottom Alan didn't adhere headliner or insulation yet as I need to fill in near doors for the material I want to use. I used a 3M spray glue. My next door neighbor used the same adhesive on his Vette a couple years ago so he was the deciding factor. I hope it works. If I'm lucky his wife and mine will do the upholstery. They are both very good......at upholstery!! Brian I don't normally sleep with parts!!! They are in the family room!! At least everyone is involved!! And don't get near them! You could get them scarred up!! 26 Truk I did the kitchen from scratch!! Doors. cabinet and tops That's my livelyhood! Wife didn't really like the 1 1/2 years it took BUT very happy now. Thanks again
Dan

Hey, Dan

If you haven't glued anything yet, I urge you to make *sure* you're using a High-Temp glue ... unless you don't mind doing it all over again.

Thanks, Rich. I sure am enjoying working with elk hides and sewing with an industrial machine!
