When i bought my 40 half-ton, it had two different fear fenders on it. Now i'm trying to figure out which one is correct. I'll try to explain as best as possble. I measured from the back mounting surface against the box, to the top of the wheel opening, in the center of the fender. Does this make any sense? One measured 15" and one 18" Is either one the correct fender? Thanks for any help. Jeff

Sounds like you may have a fender from a larger truck. Do they look alike, except for the difference in measurement you mention. Measure across the bottom of the wheel opening, to see what the difference is.

'40-'46 pickup rear fenders are usually 11-1/2" when measured as you are measuring them. '39 rear fenders look similar, but are wider at about 13". Do the rear fenders on your truck look way too wide where they match up to the runningboards?

Thanks for the help guys! But i'm still not sure. W heel opening on the bottom is about 30 1/2" on both. They both are about 11 1/2" wide. I was measuring across the top radius of the fenders because one has a taller wheel opening than the other. Maybe someone opened up this for clearance? One opening has a rounded wheel-lip and one squared. Still don't know wich is correct. I would like to stay with old steel fenders as they match the "patina" of the rest of the truck. thanks, Jeff

No pics, I have a digital camera but no way to post pics. We just have this outdated WEB TV thing so it's really not a computor, but we are getting one soon. I gotta get with the times!!!

'37, & '38 rear fenders, have a bead around the edge of the wheel opening, '39-'46 do not.
