I've got a '62 with the hydraulic clutch. The clutch fork and slave is on the passenger side of the truck, next to the starter.
I'm guessing if I swap over to later mechanical linkage, I'll also have to swap bellhousings to put the clutch fork on the driver's side. Is that correct?
Thanks,
Brad

What are you swapping to? I am looking to swap my tranny for something more highway / daily use friendly. It would be great to hear about it from someone in the process of the project, I have a 61 with a 235. Thanks.

Kyle

What am I swapping to? Man, that'd be the sixty-four thousand dollar question! I've considered everything from a TH400, a TH350, and 700R4, a 3spd OD manual, a later New Process 833 4spd OD manual, and the stock 4spd granny low, with a gear vendors on it.

I'm looking at maybe getting the manual clutch linkage and swapping that over so it makes a disc brake conversion easier, as it would eliminate the hydraulic clutch master.

I'm leaning toward the T5, but I've got the New Process 4spd OD already. Just don't want to tackle the new engine mounts and trans cross member right now. Plus, that bellhousing is set up to be a hydraulic clutch.

I'm in the same boat. I have a '60 and am planning on putting discs on it for my son to drive. I was thinking I could 'engineer' another clutch master somewhere close on the firewall. Anybody done it?
