Just found out about you guys (and gals) in Vintage Truck magazine, and thought I should join. Let me start off by introducing myself. My name is Tom, I live in Elba, NY. I'm 31 and married with kids. I am in the process of building a 1948 Chevy P/U, that is nowhere near a resto. It is being built on 1994 Buick Roadmaster (same as Impala SS) front and rear clips, with 2x4 steel framerails. Under the hood? I'm currently in the process of building a single T4 turbocharged 454 big block Chevy engine. Behind that is a 700R4 tranny, and an 8.5" 10 bolt soon to have either 3.73s or 4.11s. Not sure yet. lol I will be using the roadmaster power leather seats, and power mirrors. I have the column out of a (sorry but FREE) 75 Ford P/U, and the master cylinder/pedal assembly out of the Buick. Most likely it will be flat black with stacks. BTW, I am looking for a complete, or just 1 or 2 grill bars if anyones got them. Also, due to using alot of donor parts I will probably be posting a bunch of stock stuff. I will also post some build pics to the gallery. Sorry so long, just alot to say. Glad to be here.

You came to the right place for support for your project. Some of these ole Coots here have forgotten more than most know about StoveBolts. Even the younger ones like me can help you change a tire or two.

Welcome. This is a pretty cool place to come in and learn and find the parts you need. Speaking of parts, I am in the process of building one good grille out of 3 that I have acquired. When I get finished, I may have what you need to finish yours if you are interested. I will be working on it over the winter. Let me know.
Thanks
Scott

Thanks for the greetings!! I'll see about getting pics tonight. As far as the motor swap stuff, I don't know if if I'd call it a swap. It was more like a bolt-in with the clips I'm using. On the grille thing, my idea was to take an extra grille bar and invert it to add to the bottom with a middle filler. Kind of like a roll pan, but it would have the origional contours and shape. As you may have guessed, there won't be a bumper. lol But I do need 2 because 1 in my grill is crushed pretty good. I'll keep you all updated. btw, Elba is halfway between Buffalo and Rochester.

Glad you made it to the BOLT! Which grill bars do you need? I think the bars were all different length. Check out the Swap Meet on this site. LOTSA a cool stuff.
