Its been so long since I removed it and when I set it back up on the crossmember it didn't seem to fit right. I just don't know what it looks like. The holes for the radiator support and the frame do not line up like you think they would. It sounds like you want to know what goes inbetween the 'rad support' and the 'crossmember' as robin showed.
The piece DS is talking about has nothing to do with bolting the rad support down.

I'm curious aswell since my rad support has no steel spacers that robin's pictures showed. I just put a rubber pad (bout 1/2 inch thick) in between.

There is one piece of metal shaped like this \_/ under the 'rad support' with two bolts that go thought it. You can see two of the pieces in Robins pictures. The 3100 has one in the center. Chevy Duty sells a rubber pad that goes beneath the \_/ piece of metal. As far as I know thats it Just the two bolts in the center bottom of the support. -Roger

I just went through this with mine. There is supposed to be a shim in there. I made mine from some metal stock 1/8". I found I needed 1/4" in height. This has a direct bearing on how the front fenders align with the radiator support. Just that extra 1/8 made all the difference in the adjusting of fenders to the hood. If you have the shop manual it shows this in it.

The illustration is of a '54 with two mounting points, however the ’50 should be about the same but with one center mounting point. It is out of the Factory Assembly Manual, sec.11, sheet 2.11 for a 3100 & 3600 series. There were two 3/8” struts bolted at the top to each side of the core support and at the bottom they bolt through a doubler on the lower baffle.
