(The accelerator pump was not working) Upon putting everything back together I noticed that when the choke is fully open (no choke) the accelerator linkage does not rest upon the idle speed adjustment screw. I took some Polaroids of the carb before I began to make sure that it all went back together, and am fairly confident that everything is correct. The carb works fine, idles fine, runs fine, but I know that in order to have the full range of idle speed adjustment, the linkage needs to rest up against that screw. Yeah, I ran the screw all the way in. Any thoughts?? :confused: | | |

This arm sits up against the idle adjustment screw, and if the fork isnt sitting on that shaft, the linkage wont match up. If that isnt it, than maybe bindage in the butterfly valves? Good luck. By the by, I have been looking for a carburator rebuild kit for my stromburg. Where did you get yours?

Think the problem is more along the "something's binding" thing. All the linkage is setup correctly. What should I use to lube the throttle shafts and other linkage?? After doing the rebuild kit the truck starts a lot easier and runs great!!

Just spray it on the shaft and down the carb, then open and close the throttle by hand, and it should loosen it up. If it doesnt, there might me an obstruction keeping the throttle from closing. Sometimes the gasket between the carb and the intake wasnt manufactured correctly and it will be in the way of the valves. Good luck. Thanks for the napa number.
