For helping keep this great
old truck web site
on the Internet for over 30 years! and not clogged down with Ads! Again, thanks! | | | | Joined: Jan 2006 Posts: 31 Apprentice | | Apprentice Joined: Jan 2006 Posts: 31 | I am restoring my 57 chevy truck and want to put a gas tank under the bed, but I don't really want to spend $450 for an aluminum tank kit. I've heard of people putting a new Mustang tank under the bed of this truck for a LOT less money. Anyone know anything about that or have any other recommendations? I did mine different but no one seems to like my way. Thats ok. I would measure the space where you want to put it and go to a friendly salvage yard and try to find one that will fit. You will have to modify the filler tube. BE CAREFULL. Gas tanks can explode like a BIG bomb. Some one else will probably give you some more specific details. Good luck. I know it can be done.
I like old trucks
