I posted a question in the radio forum but no one was there so will try here. I am leaning on installing a AM/FM - CD radio in my 51 1/2 ton p/u. I was thinking of running directly off a 12 v small tractor battery. Would just recharge when necessary. There is plenty of room for one under the dash on the left side and cannot be seen. (would build a battery tray and brackets.) Also, using a magnetic mount under dash antenna and :rolleyes: speakers behind the speaker grill of the truck. Wanted to stay with the 6 volt system and I have read that the 6 to 12 volt converters are not all that great. Has anyone tried my method? A friend has a 52 and he did this with no problem. Any thoughts or other things I may need to know such as inline fuses, grounding, etc.
