Was wondering if anybody knows --- will wheel cylinders from a 47 chevy pickup fit on a '51 3600? did the 3/4 tons use heavier brakes? Or was it all standard. Thanks,

To answer your question, no, I don't think so. Pre '50 are Huck style brakes, '51+ Bendix; although this information does not answer your question re: wheel cylinder diameter.

I was reading you "log", instead of paying for a high priced new or rebuilt single master cylinder, go for a dual (safer and it's cheaper too!), it's a good time for it as you will be repacing your brake lines. Do a 'search' for dual master, many here have done it.
Welcome and keep us posted!

Whether Huck or Bendix, all the brake parts are larger and heavier duty on a 3/4 ton. Unless of coarse somebody put 3/4 axles unto the 1/2 ton, as that is not unheard of. The 3/4 ton's need to stop a bigger ( heavier ) load . My huck cyl's were always different fron the Bendix as I have owned both and 1/2 and 3/4. Jon

John,
You didn't say if the 47 was a 3100 or a 3600.
If they are both 3600's then the rear wheel cylinders should interchange.
A lot of parts catalogs list the same rear wheel cyl. for '46 to '52.
3600's kept huck brakes through 1952. 3100's had huck brakes through '50.
Also...3600's through '52 and 3100's through '50 used the same front brakes (huck style) so those parts should also interchange except for the drums.
