ever stop and put gas in your bolt and the handle clicks off then ya hear a gurgle as a spash of gas wants back out just to run down the side of ur cab

I hate it when this happens! I have even tried putting the handle on the slowest pumping setting and it still happens.

I listen, and slow it down when it starts to get full.

I use a rag when I'm filling The coupe...

I wait until my gas gauge is at, or slightly below, the half-full mark. Then I put in eight gallons only.

When I was young and working at a gas station, I remember that most of the cars would produce a whistle which would let you know when it was almost full. I can't remember whether that was a function of the pump or the car.

When the gas comes up to getting full, I always press the rubber boot against the inlet mouth with the free hand and release the pump lever.
You have to wait at least 10 seconds in that position for all the gas to return from inside the booth back into the tank.
Then slowly pull out the nozzle and with the other hand and a rag catch any remaining drops.

You get used to the procedure after a short while and never have any spills or drips again.

Some pumps still have the old no-booth-exhaust system, then you just gotta press a rag around the tank inlet.
I thought these are outlawed by now everywhere.

sure takes awhile to get the smell off your hands or out of the truck.......gotta take it slow and easy,, method works on a lot of stuff

I listen to mine also, & put it on slow-only way I have found that works. Brian

I take it slow and also leave the ignition switch on so I can watch the gauge.
Got a separate switch to kill the power to the coil.

I only put in about 10 gal. at a time ,when i take hard right turns I get it coming out the cap ,think maybe my cap is bad. Know the gas smell in the cab it stinks!
