I am looking to put the sheet metal from my 1939 chevy on a more modern 70s - 80s frame and drivetrain any one have any info

I hear S-10's are about the same dimensions as the pre-AD trucks

i saw a 46 on an s 10 chassis, it was unfinished, but the frame was wider than the front of the cab cowl. i don't know how or if it ever got finished, but that 39 has a very narrow nose compared to the s 10. if it's been done i'd like to see one. wahoo40

Putting a 38 on a s10 chassis and so far it is a good fit. Do a search on this site and the HAMB for "s10" and frame swap and you will pull up a lot of information. I have seen 36 - 55.1 along with numerous cars swapped onto these frames.

Ok A simple Question from a simple guy Why does every one use S10 frames and not a chevy 1500 or 2500? they are alot easer to find.

I've been measuring and sketching, so far the S10 long wheel base regular cab is the best fit. I've been hoping to find something to drop my 50 1.5 sheet metal on and I'm currently at a loss most late model (72-on) are too wide. Current plan is to mod late model parts to fit the stock frame which is in very good condition. Grigg has great info on this.
