Last night I pulled the fuel line from my 216 to measure and replace it. The last time I did this a few years ago on a 235 I don't remember having any problems, but last night when I disconnected the line gas wouldn't stop pouring from the outlet fitting on the pump. The pump seemed to work fine before, except for hard starting if the engine hadn't been run for 5 or 6 days. Does the pump have a check valve that's supposed to prevent this? Should I remove it and check it out? The carburetor was pretty dirty inside and I'm cleaning it and putting a kit in it. It's a Carter w-1. Thanks, Jacques

if it dosen't need fixed, break it
