And now to lock the thread so people can't criticize it? Power gone to your head a little? The man was asking for help. Could you please tell me the infractions broken? It was in the engine forum. Does it say anywhere we can only ask about Chevy's?
Wanna ban me for this post? Go ahead, this stinks.
Wanna remove this post? go ahead I wouldn't expect any less.

I think Mr. Conner would be happy to hand the keys to the moderator position over to you. However, I would think that your previous post may prejudice your chances of acceptance.

I know that I had a question that could have been in the wrong slot but did not realize it till later, I am new at the web and would not want to make waves, we are here to help. I had asked a question about my 70 international, found the problem and cancelled. just thought that if you had a chevy, then everything was opened. thanks for listening, Redryder pixMy HotrodA veteran - whether active duty, retired, national guard, or reserve - is someone who, at one point in his or her life, wrote a blank check made payable to The 'United States of America', for an amount of "up to and including my life."I am fighting cancer and I am winning the fight | Pain is part of life; misery is an option.

Well, no matter, I recieved the info. that I was looking for. Thanks to everyone that helped out. Sixpack was right, if the engine and driveline forum was the wrong place to post, it should have been moved (with an explanation as to why), not deleted without any warning.

May I ask a favor? Would you all do me the favor of remembering a few things? First and foremost, nobody around here is perfect. There's only ever been one perfect person and you know what happened to Him...
Second, this website absolutely would not exist if it weren't for people volunteering their precious time to make it all work (like Boyo). If we didn't have people willing to step up and take charge (and run afoul of others' sensitivities, however inadvertantly, from time to time) we would not have this great resource.
With that in mind, I would really appreciate it if we could all take a deep breath, smoke 'em if ya got 'em, and try to give the folks who have willingly put their necks on the line in a public way a little benefit of the doubt. Maybe you didn't like one thing that wasn't done the way you would have liked. But what about the rest of it that gets done to your satisfaction? Isn't it worth it? And maybe (just maybe) if something a moderator does ticks you off, before you go off, maybe consider that his motives might have been pretty good and you just don't agree with his methods -- so be it. Drive on and concentrate on the positives, not the negatives.
This forum is probably the best one on the bulletin board -- YOU all made it that way! So keep up the good work and lighten up -- Boyo is doing a heckuva job.
Are we starting the Winter Shananigans already???
Thanks -- you guys are great! John

I still don't see any rules that were broken. Maybe threads should only be removed if there are rules BROKEN? But to indiscriminately delete helpful posts is not necessary. We now have a guy with a Chevy Chevelle afraid he can't post because it isn't a truck.

Was the person who started the post informed that his post was being deleted? OR was there a Honest flat out mistake?(I`ve made more than my fair share :o ).
There is enough good in the worst of us and enough bad in the best of us that it does not behoove any of us to criticize the rest of us. - - Be yourself. If you are ever lost, It will be much easier to find yourself if you know who you are!

I'd note that Boyo has run this shop as long as I can remember and has done a good job with very few problems. The lounge is the appropriate place for car posts and general nuttiness. We don't need two lounges--Let's let Boyo run the Engine and drive Shop--worked so far. Others of course will disagree--just my opinion.

If he had put the post in the lounge it would have gone ignored since it was a engine question. It wasn't a nobody that came flying in on the wind, it was one of our regulars asking for help. If this forum doesn't have the room for those questions then maybe some of YOUR lounge postings should be limited instead.
I bet the lounge gets hundreds of posts per day. The engine and driveline forum usually only gets a dozen or so posts per day, so it wasn't like we really had to do some house cleaning. At least not there.
If it was a mistake, great, just say so then we can go on. I think the poll speaks for itself.
The thread could have been left up for a while and as it ran off the bottom of the page deleted into oblivion.

BY THE WAY -- I (PEGGY) AM LOCKING THIS THREAD.
We explained what was happening.
Got work to do.
