What is the advantage of putting a dual master cylinder on my 59 apache? Also will an aftermarket power brake booster fit under my cab with a manual transmission,3 on the tree?

The only advantage of putting a dual cylinder MC in an otherwise stock '59 is safety. If there was a failure of a brakeline or wheel cylinder in a single MC, you have no brakes. Same failure with a dual MC you still have 2 brakes working. Do not know from experience, but I have heard, that there is interference with the 3 speed linkage and/or parking brake linkage using the standard dual MC/booster that is sold out there.
Good luck,
Steve O

Thank you Steve O,You have confirmed my suspicions.I appreciated your responce.I want to be able to stop.Do you think just taking the brakes back to like new, with a dual master cylinder would help to stop safely?

I put a dual mc/ booster in a 59 gmc. The unit did interfere with the park brake. I repositioned the park brake pulley back about 4 inches and it worked fine. Don't know of any clearence issues with the 3 on the tree... mine was a late model 4 speed. this set up does push the master cylinder way back... almost under the seat. it makes it very difficult to service your brake fluid. you will probably have to put new brake lines in for the conversion
