I want to change the transmission on a 3 speed 66 GMC to a newer automatic one. What would fit the 351 engine? Where would I find one?

Would that be the GMC V-6 engine. I think it would be hard to find an auto-matic to fit it. I would replace that slow motion huge hunk of cast iron with a small block v-8 chev. & a 700-4r trans.

They say money can't buy happiness. It can buy old Chevy trucks though. Same thing.

Years ago, I did see a '67 GMC equipped with a V6, automatic transmission and power steering from the factory, so the parts should be out there. I don't think many were made that way so it might be a trick to find everthing.

Try a company called Advanced Adaptors. That's the kind of stuff they make.
