My wipers have worked ok until the past month. I found if I hit the speed bumps down the back lane at just the right speed in 1st in the right way, they'd start. Today they decided not to start at all...and it rained...alot.

Before I get in there and start fiddling around with my manual, any suggestions what to start with? 58 Chevy Apache.

It is electric and I believe it is original. The previous owner said it is original, but he also said that about the dual exhaust.

Make sure you have a good ground for the electric motor. If there is paint or corosion between the motor housing and metal dash, then the wipers might not work until something shifts (going over a bump) and then the ground might reconnect. So make sure the ground is clean to start with.

Thanks for pointing me in the right direction. The yellow wire had broken off so I'm gonna strip the end and re-attach as per Manual. Thanks again!

ps. I'm looking at the yellow line attachment. Should it fit in a sleeve or does it go through the small hole on the connection?

Speaking of wipers, I used my vacuum type yesterday and my heater core started to leak. The core was tested and soldered in November and I had not used my wipers until yesterday. Strange coincidence and from my thinking process the two are not related mechanically.

if the conection looks like a spade or tab, there are special ends that plug on. find them at hardware or auto stores. they crimp on the end of the wire. but any conection that works when it's raining can't be ignored

After reviewing the manual & the card it was attached to, it was soldered. We resoldered it back on. I'z got wipers again. Thanks.
