About time to replace the battery in my '56 3100, and would like to put in the original style DELCO battery. I checked with the local Chevy dealer, and though they carry Delco, they only have the newer style (closed cell) style of battery. Had anyone out there put an original style battery in their truck, and where was it purchased?

Here is a link to Restoration Battery in Cincinnati, Ohio. They make a maintenance-free replica tar top battery for our trucks.

I have had one of these in my truck for about nine months and so far it has worked great.

Thanks to all for the responses, and especially to Jim Karras--I e-mailed restoration battery in Cincinnati. If they have what I want, my Nephew (who lives there) will be visiting this month, and will pick up one and bring it to save shipping charges! Again, thanks to all for your responses!
