The Stovebolt Site Forums The Shop Area General Truck Talk All Original '62 ... Bragging Maybe?

After helping information from fellow bolters I've learned that the truck i'm buying for $150 is an all original 1962 C-10 lwb ss .

It needs some typical/usual TLC for the year model but after further inspection the dash hasn't been cut/still has the knockoutplate for a radio , has all 4 of the original hubcaps inside , has the original benchseat in A-1 shape which be handled with utmost care, & like I thought the original 235 6 with the orig 3speed is running like a CHAMP after god knows howlong it's been running .
I've decided to keep it as original as possible despite wanting to turn it into a swb, d/b, p/s, v8 rat/hot rod. :rolleyes: all you bolters who love the ORIGINALS just the way they were look forward to seein me around

yeah, yer braggin, but we won't hold it against ya, at least if you get it in the gallery, and on the road and we won't beat on ya even if you do ratrod it

congrats on a good score - finding a runner next to free is great, but one w/ a good original seat is next to mythical!

Maybe she's going tobe my unicorn like "Eleanor" (Gone In 60Seconds) lol. I may have made a mistake tryin tobe added to the gallery but I'm determined. IF need be I'll redo it until I'm in!

I'll second the original route. Hate to see and nice original in good condition get hacked or modified. Find a truck in sad shape to do that to.

I congratulate you on a great find and a better deal. I too was glad to hear that you will go the origional route with the old girl, one in that kind of shape just needs to be enjoyed and driven. Have fun!

Thanks guys - I appreciate it heaps cause my 1st old truck project (58 Apache 3100 swb ss) has been grounded since day 1 due to the bodywork . Even though I wasn't big on any of the 62 up trucks this ol'gal seems to have me anxious & I can't wait until she's in the gallery ..... then being shown off even more with major updates .

ya just never get over that, I think..

lots of laughs but I was like that even when I seen my dad's 72 all orig Maverick for $500. The motor was rebuilt, they forgot to fill the trans back up with fluid sOoO we bought 5qts of fluid & what'cha kno IT MOVED!!! bwahahaha :p .

Unfortunately it's a FORD/Driver Returns On Foot, sOoO the brake cyclinder went out on it .... OH NO~NO BRAKES!, & I'm thinking the modulator is sucking trans fluid....too bad my dad won't let me have it.

~shrugs~ I'd like to modify it for a big block 400 chevy, cover it heartbeat chevy stickers & emblems :rolleyes: just to get evil looks from tha Blue Oval Teams
