It seems what they've been saying about the auction turning into one of those reality shows has some truth to it.

They actually have made a reality show about runing the auction. It's also on Speed Channel and is called Barrett-Jackson: Life on the Block.
I've seen it and it's pretty interesting.
One thing they went into is the bidding war on that 54 Olds F-88 concept that ultimately sold for $3,000,000.
Apparently one guy was upest about another bidder jumping in front of him and not displaying proper bidder ettiquette.
He knew the guy wanted the car, so he figured he'd keep bidding to jack the price up and "make him pay". Seems like a couple of rich guys behaving like babies, if you ask me.

Joker: I got your email and responded this evening. Sorry for the delay.

FYI: The Futureliner sold for $4,100,000 (less buyer's fee). They said the buyer was hoping to get $600,000 for it.

[EDIT]
I'm getting frustrated with B-J's results webpage. It stalled out at lot #1263 for about a half hour, and now it's stalled at lot #1299. I really want to know how much the Mobil Gas Station collection went for.

It sold for $4M. There was a slight disagreement between the buyer and B-J about that, but he ended up with it for $4M (plus the $320,000 (8%) buyer's premium). He also bought the '70 LS6 Chevelle SS ragtop (the blue drag car) that had 61 miles on the odometer for $1.15M, plus a couple of other cars later on Saturday night for $150K and $275K, each. Supposedly, this guy came to town with $10M to spend on cars at B-J. Unbelievable!

Interesting...
Lot #1527 (The '49 Canopy Express) is being shown on the results page as a '66 Mustang Coupe.
Clicking on the link either in my original post or at the B-J list of cars, it comes up with no information whatsoever.

I wonder if there was some reason that they had to pull it from auction...

Just got in from attending the Barrett Jackson auction.
Man ! Did we have a Blast !

It was great to be there to see the Futureliner off.
Another record has been broken.
I asked one of the owners before the auction what he thought it would sell for.... He shrugged his shoulders & said " Your guess is as good as mine ".
I ran into a old gentleman who was checkin' out the bus... he said he worked for GM on the Futureliners & his guess was $500,000 .

I wonder what Barrett Jackson is gonna do to top itself next year?

You missed the sweet modified '37 Terraplane pickup that went for $175K on Saturday evening. It was going across at the end of a commercial break, unfortunately. No other Hudsons or Studebakers that I was aware of. Good. That means they are still affordable!!!
