The only change in the frame design was at the back for the 54 year. The only difference I am aware of on the 54 cabs between Chevy and GMC is the legend stamped in the dash board. It uses gauge plates with individual round gauges, and a special GMC script ashtray. I guess a good body man could fab up a smooth ashtray cover.
