For those who follow BillyBob's progress, a new Work-in-Progress log entry "Makeup Makeover" has been posted. During the body phase of BillyBob's detailing cycle, I got carried away with touching up the paint and now I'm about half finished with putting a new coat of Rustoleum on Him. This log entry is mostly Sand, Prime, Paint a section. Then repeat the process for the next section. I've learned a few things since the last time I did this five years ago and I'm getting a slightly better finish this time but it's still a "farmer's paint job".

Larry, I enjoyed reading the progress. It reminds me of what my dad would be doing with his 1961 Apache.
I think he had painted/repainted that thing over a 5 year period. I asked him about that long paint job and he said "well son I didn't have a lot of money or time, so I had to paint it whenever I could". She was red and dad was proud of that old truck.(I wish he still had it).

Thanx fellas. Whenever I think I'm not making much progress, I go back to the early log entries to get my head straight again. When I get really lazy, knowing that BillyBob's readers are out there waiting for a new episode will get me off my butt to get something done, no matter how small.

Like many of the other truck lovers at this site, it is always nice to read your stories and see the work you accomplish on your truck.

It makes me want to get out of my football chair and just do some work on the project I have. It motivates me to see the work you accomplish and think that I could be getting something done.

Like the old saying goes: how do you eat an elephant? One bite at a time. I like to add you need to start eating the elephant before it starts to spoil and it makes the job of eating it very undesirable!

Thanx again, fellas. Weeds, I can agree with you regarding Alan's work. The stuff he's written about door alignment alone, I know, is going to ease the path for me when I get there in BillyBob's restoration.

FK, The digital camera is great for hiding flaws. It's not quite as good as it looks and I haven't found a way to wax rustoleum. Still, it's a workable solution if you're not ready for automotive paint.
