We have to admit we have not named our 51- 3100, nor my 55 Black Knight. (that's a motorbike) but that name of your truck sometimes comes w/ time. You'll get the right moment and you'll know.

my 52 is 'Delilah'
my 74 is 'Direwolf'
my 49 is named after an old Cheyenne Indian scout

My '54 is "Rattlecan"--A name I hope to change someday. I painted about 1/2 the truck with spray paint, and the inside of the truck sounds like you're in a clothes dryer with a pocket full of change dumped in. I've bought the weatherstripping and a temporary floor mat, so I should soon be able to quiet her down a bit.
The 'can' is a lot of fun to work on.

well i have to add to this topic. why you ask? i have no idea...lol
i have as of this post, not named my GMC, and feel the right name will come to me when we get to know each other. i will say i do talk to all my cars and trucks, and i almost think they hear me. i swaped my 2000 dakota with my wife and told the dakota, which i call "dak" to take good care of the wife and kids. about two weeks later, they were stoped to make a turn, and got rear ended by a 1 ton ford with trailer in tow. and he was doing at least 55 mph and was not looking. he didnt even hit the brakes. my family walked away with a couple bumps, and nothing more. and my wife told me she rememberd me saying that i told dak to take care of them, and she did. dak didnt fair as well. the hitch and frame was into the pavement, and the tailgate swong side to side and not down anymore. ill always remember that truck for that.

Somewhere along the line the step-side got a Navy blue paint job, so has always been Ol' Blue. None too original, I know, but it fits. Then I got the fleetside with its original GM light blue paint, so it became Baby Blue. That's the one I use as a daily, including hauling produce into town, so its also the Market Truck.
I don't cuss my trucks, and am assuming ya'll talk about cussin' your trucks with tongue in cheek.
This may be the main reason I stick with these antiques - no matter what happens, I never get the urge to give up and call it a piece of s**t. When I'm asked to work on someone's newer car, I get that urge on a regular basis. (Like when I'm working on something electrical on my sister's '95 Blazer and need to ground something - everything's plastic! Piece of s**t!
A newer car might require less maintenence, and would get better milage, but those Saturday afternoon repairs would be a chore rather than a pleasure.

BTW Caroline's Truck-
A girl who worked for me a few seasons ago had a GMC named Bertha, and I once had a leaky air compressor that emitted this shrill squeal so often I couldn't help but name it Donna Jean.
We're still out here, I guess, we're just gettin' old and grey, but hopefully not burnt out and hopefully not in the way.
