I'd rather not have to remove the column...

Brian | | | | | Joined: Jul 2005 Posts: 227 Wrench Fetcher | | Wrench Fetcher Joined: Jul 2005 Posts: 227 | im not sure whats supposed to be there. its a 63 truck not sure if column is original or not.there is a hole at the firewall that the column passes through. this hole is bigger than the column.there is a bracket. its one peice and has a bolt on either side bolting to the firewall. this bracket is smaller than the hole in the firewall but still not a snug fit. darn... this is hard to explain! haha look at my horrible drawing for more details http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v619/theyownus/bad.jpg i can take some pics and post them tomorrow if the drawing dosent help. thanks for the response though | | | | | Joined: Sep 2003 Posts: 2,384 Shop Shark | | Shop Shark Joined: Sep 2003 Posts: 2,384 | The OE bracket kinda looks like a foot, has 3 bolts to firewall & a semi-circle "foot" that is clamped to the column.
