just got my new, stock, exhast plumbed and installed on my '61. man, what a difference. that thing purrs like a kitten now, gone are the days of roaring around like a tractor on the loose. that little 235 idles like glass and now sounds like a good vehicle again. thanks for the posts relating to my exhaust questions. i am so happy with this little truck, i am gonna have to post pictures soon so you guys can have a look. doesn't look much better but i am almost done fixing mechanical stuff, and then the body! thanks again.

uh...all i did was redo it in stock form. stock exhaust manifold, 2" pipe, stock style muffler, single pipe all the way through, exiting behind the driverside back tire. not a lot of sound to it, but that is what i was going for. it is 100 percent better than it used to be. the old truck is slowly starting to shape up, and it makes me feel good to see it slowly returning to roadworthiness.

Fort Knox,

That's my next project for my 292-equipped '65. I'm going stock manifold and exhaust system on mine, too. So I'm really glad to hear your's worked out so well.
Where did you get your exhaust system from?
Any trouble putting it together?
