The caps that are tapped down onto the ends of the spindle holes , to retain the grease and keep the weather out , are normally mild steel . These caps are not available locally ,, will it be ok to use brass freeze plugs instead ? Any thoughts appreciated .  | | |

If all you have are brass soft plugs then it will be OK to put then in.

Not a proper king pin replacement job ,, just needed the eye ends done ,, so I didnt use a new kit . Hense the question about the end caps . Thanks for your thoughts RCD . | | |

Tried asking for 1 1/8 freeze plugs but they had 1" & 1 1'4" I guess I'll make my own unless you or somebody can help! popcorn | | |
