It currently drives, but I want to do a complete restoration on it. Also, what is something like this worth in "running" condition and "restored" condition.

In stock form I would think that it would exceed all the other 1947 to 1953 GM trucks, by quite a margin. The design would be very close to the panel truck. All the front sheet metal would be shared with the pickup, the area that is the cab in the pickups would be similar except for the floor details. All other parts are either from a suburban or panel and common parts from pickups. The restored price can vary from around $18000 - to around $50,000. I have seen two on auction go for $43,600 and $18,800. Mine is a half-ton as well. There is a 1-ton for sale at goldenrod-garage.com. Mine is the 1/2 ton he has listed.

Quite a few original colors available for those years, I stayed with the original color mine was painted from the factory. Have you decided on a color yet? Keep us posted on your progress!

It should be picked up early next week. If I don't keep it a stock color, I will paint it candy-apple red (I am in the produce business).
