| | | | Joined: Jun 2005 Posts: 37 Wrench Fetcher | | Wrench Fetcher Joined: Jun 2005 Posts: 37 | Well I ran across a side tire mount for my 49 3/4 ton chevy and was happier than Mr. Haney after a sale to Mr. Douglas, but then when I went to see how the holes match up on my truck I realized that not only did the bolt pattern not match (which I don't mine because two of the holes do, and that will hold the rim in place) but the legs of the mount don't reach from one side bed brace to the other, I'm guessing this is because the one I have is from a 1/2 ton. Well I knew the bolt patterns might not match up, but are the leg braces further apart on the 3/4 ton mount. If anyone has a 3/4 ton side mount can you post or email me pics and dimensions of the mount. Hey anybody want to trade their 3/4 ton for my apparent 1/2 ton?

On a 1/2-ton there is only the one side brace at the front of the bed unlike a 3/4-ton which has another just in front of the fender.
I was concerned that a mount made for a 1/2-ton might now work well on a 3/4.
As for the studs for the wheel, you might mark a third location using the wheel, drill a hole, and put a bolt through from the rear and then bolt or weld it in place.

But it was a lousy set up, however I did like the look and there is no under bed mount, so I would like to leave the spare tire mount on the side.
