Can anyone tell me if there is a kit available to put tube shocks on my 48.Jim Carter and Chevy Duty say their kits will only work on 1/2 tons but didnt say why.Thanks

It must work. They look exactly the same on my 53 3/4. Try Patricks in AZ, and ask him. I ran into the same problem with J. Carter's people, and see it all the time at the parts houses. If it aint in their catalog it does not exist. I have a set of modern tie rod ends for my rig that came about by searching the catalog at Kragen and matching the original O/D and taper. Too bad Jim Carter shut down his tech line, they knew their stuff, at least 7 years ago they did.

When I looked up the application recently at www.gabriel.com they showed the same shock for 1/2 and 3/4 ton. They used to have a different rear shock. You can get them through a local dealer. My local parts store had the front shocks in stock, but that was 8 years ago.
