I have not seen where gmckustom has even defended his plan or tried to explain himself. Hope he has the knowledge to know when to get help to perform serious modifications. I have my doubts.

What do you expect when his thread gets takin over and half the people that know little or nothing about lowering vehicles and have nothing better to do than slam him :mad: . Maybe his busy working on his truck and dosn't have time for the b.s. that has transpired here. If people don't like what other people do to their trucks mybe they shouldn't post anything at all. JMHO.

The kid was looking for help NOT your opinion! Hope he comes back. If you still use a blow torch how would you "slam his truck" Maybe you dont know? My torch has not been used in 10 months. LOL Teasing yah.

Custom bolts are cool…as long as they aren't CHOPPED. Its only my opinion don’t get mad if you like it.
I also don’t like old trucks with new beds.

Man I hate Chopped trucks, channeling ok, body drop okay, shaving ok. Slamming is ok, Tilt front end ok,
I've seen some mild chops that look good 1 1/2".

I don’t like sub framing either, just buy a new frame man.

But I like em stock. I might do my 55.2 stock but slammed. 3" drop axel and some mono leafs. I want it to look original but low. Ill use my 59 3/4 ton to haul stuff.

This and 0.48 cents could get you a coffee

If I went to the HinduTalk message board and asked for good beef recipies, I bet i'd get some opinions! (and probably not many Calcutta Suprise Meatloaf recipies)

Yea, I know this isn't HinduTalk, but it IS a public forum with a diverse group of users, and one should expect opinions.. from the best way to accomplish a "slam" to why they shouldn't do it at all.

I really don't feel I "slammed" the guy, and have said that at the end of the day, I wouldn't do it, but it's HIS TRUCK and he can do whatever he wants.

God knows there were things I did to cars when I was a kid because I thought it looked cool that I regret now.

From now on, i'll keep my opinions to myself.

Fumblin, we enjoy hearing opinions, so please don't stop voicing your opinions. I just think this thread got WAY off topic with the custom vs. original battle. I think we should just help with the question that was asked.

If I asked "What is the easiest way to put flames on my truck?" I would want that question asked. I would not want two pages of members arguing over custom and stock. Flames on a truck aren't stock, but I bet we would not all go through this if that question were raised.

I guess I can distinguish between a "battle" and a "discussion".

While I understand this started as a topic asking about how to "traditionally" lower a old truck, it had evolved into what I thought was more a open discussion about why we like 'em stock and why we like 'em squashed, but I guess some folks just can't handle that.

I understand the thread got hijacked, but the cat did post it twice, and his second identical thread had a actual answer to his question (as did this one, if you read thru the banter)

I'll have to back Fumblin46 on this one. The guy posted the same question twice and the other post has his answer.

I feel your pain gmckustom I got bashed on the HAMB for my name, my idea for my new truck, asking about chopping, asking about an S-10 frame swap, and other things. I was told to come here, but I can see here seems no different. It's always the same people got to flame/bash you for something you want to do. They could have just as easly ignored the post and let someone who actually knows something about the subject answer, but no, they had to hijack the thread to get their precious two cents in.

Let me know how your re-search goes, I'm looking at something similar on my 1946 Chevy pickup. If you find a message board that's a little more "open minded" also let me know. Good Luck on the project.
