i am in the process of installing lowering springs. I have the wheel off and have taken the castle nuts off of the top and bottom control arms even the castle nut off of the tie rod end. I also have the shock unbolted. I have a pry bar and am really yanking on it and i cant get it to budge. Any ideas why? have i missted a bolt or nut somewhere? please any advice ASAP as i am in the process of doing this right now. Thanks

Screw those nuts back on partway emediatly before someone gets seriously hurt.

O.K. those are a tapered fit. get a ball joint fork & with the nuts on partway hammer it in the joint till it pops loose. You may have to whack the nuckle to help break them loose. Then put a jack under the lower A arm & raise it up to take the pressure off the nuts. Then remove the nuts & slowly let the jack down & remove the spring.

PUT THE CASTLE NUTS BACK ON A LITTLE LESS THAN HALFWAY; you want 3 or 4 threads locked in. If you put them on less than that, you risk the ball joint stud ripping through the nut and hurting someone. If you put them on more than that, you may be spinning the entire stud with the nut after it pops loose from the spindle, which makes it a pain to get the nut off. There are flat spots on the spindles; I don't know if they were designed that way, but that's where I whack 'em with a good size maul. The ball joint studs pop out, then you back the nut off and you're done.

Put a jack under the ctrl arms first thing. If you do it this way you won't hurt anyone and you won't be cussing yourself for not backing the nut off enough (yes, speaking from experience).

well i didnt use the castle nuts i just put the jack under the control arm so when it poped free it didnt move then i let the jack down slowly. I wasnt using a pickle fork because they damage the dust boots. But i deceided screw it and did it anyway. Thanks for your help im done 3 inch drop in the front 4 in the rear. Looks sweet!
