i have a good running 77 with v8 anyone ever build a 50 truck on a 70s frame seems it could be done let me know if its easy or easyer to use the 50 frame and switch everything over

There is a guy in our area that has done several swaps using 4x4 frames and he tells me it is not all that hard. I have a53 and a57 that I would like to try doing this to.

I'm nearing completion of my installation of a big bolt(2 ton) 49 gmc cab onto an 89 4x4 1 ton with a 454 and turbo 400. Worked out pretty slick. For the half ton, width is going to be your biggest obstacle in my opinion.

Personally I agree with 49gmc. Width is the problem.
It can be done, but the wheel track width front and rear are wider than the 50 and it just doesn't look as good in my opinion.
The wheels will look like they are out hugging the fenders, instead of tucked in under the fenders.
You can accomplish a much more natural look with an S-10 frame, if you really want to change frames.
