Well, yesterday i was distracted for just a second and ran over an already dead skunk on the edge of the road. Immediately i could smell it.... and the smell stayed with my truck, in and out. Today i took it through the car wash and it helped, but the smell is still there. So, any advice, (besides cleaning) and what i can expect? Maybe I should just drive it on a rainy day... this sucks

Wash your truck down with a mixture of Citric acid crystals or mix up a bath of lemon juice (reconstituted works) probally a 2 quarts to 5 gals. should do the trick, then rinse your truck body well. Works well on pets dogs and couches and floors and what ever else he rubs on in your house!

Yep V-6 That works also tomatoe juice. Ran over a skunk with Maws and I on our Harley 2 yrs. ago, Bike cleaned up well But, had to throw Maws tennis shoes away. Yuck!!!

I got a live buzzard once with a GoldWing. Didn't do much to my bike but the next one sure got nasty.

The pH in the Lemons 4.5 and Tommatoes is about 5.5 avg. it's the acidity that breaks down the scent.

I found a recipe from a wildlife organization

The recipe is 1/4 baking soda per quart of hydrogen perozide. Add a little dishwashing liquid to suds up. Scrub it on, let it sit 5 minutes, rinse. This worked for a friend of mine that hit a skunk on hise bike.
