I bought a mount at a swap meet recently only to confirm that it would not do the job on my 53. The logical answer being to sell it, but what should I be asking? Please note, this is a request for estimated prices, not an attempt to sell here. What would ebay bring in?

Thanks for the advice!

I have seen them go from $20 - $50 on Ebay. I would go ahead and list it in the Swap meet. You do not have to enrich ebay that way and it stays in the family.

I've seen the earlier models (not as rare) go for $100 and more. Of course, that was when I was bidding. Things always seem to double when I am interested, unless I'm selling, then they are worth nearly nothing.

I expect it will end up in the hands of a fellow bolter before I'm done. Ebay has gotten too irritating for me lately. I just need an idea of what to ask. Thanks!

Hummm---mine (for a 55.1) looks identical to Ray's remanufactured one-- (very nice piece by the way) except the vertical support tops are flat(with bolt holes thru the top) and not curved. I don't have any piece which attaches to the "front of the bed" and would much like to see that piece if anyone has such a pic. Thanks.

My 54 has a bracket that ties the sides to the front on both sides of the truck. This discussion has come up before. I think the only difference I know about in my 54 spare bracket is the angle of the top part.

Well--

Looks like I'm missin some pieces to this pup and never even seen em'--hardly surprisin--lucky I got what I did for thirty bucks. I'll get a manual and try to figure out what these brackets look like. Ray if ur gonna manufacture pieces for the 54-55 mount I hope you'll let us know--I'd be interested.

While were on the subject--I had to pay too much ($160) to get that 54-55 clock housing-- I've seen those things sell for $250 plus on ebay--if you could make those and dribble them out on ebay--make gud money! Looks to me like it wudn't be very hard to adapt that thing as a clock/tach housing for pre 54 AD chev trucks as well --probably make a killing. :p

My '55 1st parts truck has the side mount carrier and matching fender. I keep thinking this stuff should go on eBay, but haven't had the time to remove it yet...

It's true. I really don't do anything but browse the Internet looking for trouble...
