They don't list any parts specifically for the C20. Can anyone tell me if I'd be okay getting the C10 wheel cylinders, or do I need to keep looking?

Instead of saying they're "close by", I'll just say they're "close enough".  I did call Checker and they quoted me about $50 each and 2-3 weeks out on availability. That's when I noticed the ad in the spring 2004 LMC catalog: all four cylinders for $70. I'll give NAPA a call. Husker | | |

I ordered a set from LMC and they were fine. They also have a very good catalog with a lot of exploded view diagrams. Website is LMCTRUCK.COM and their number to request a catalog or order is 1-800-541-8525. Good to see that there is at least one other person with taste out there with a 61 C20!

I got the wheel cylinders from NAPA, but ordered the front brake hoses, wipers, and speedometer cable from LMCtruck.
My catalog from them is for C10 & C20s, but a lot of the items they just have for the C10s. For instance, I need the hood emblems, and all they show in the catalog is C10 emblems.
Do you have any other sources? I've checked the junkyards around here, but all their 61s are 1/2 tons.

It's not real pretty yet, we started with brakes and the fuel system, and we are just finishing up with an engine overhaul. I am constantly amazed at how stout and heavy-duty this old truck is when compared with my new one. I have had pretty good luck on EBay when looking for miscellaneous parts.

I agree about the sturdiness of the old trucks. It amazes me that the '61 (a work in progress) is in almost as good a shape as our newer 3/4 ton. The thin paint on it is peeling off like paper, and I can't even take it through the car wash without loosing several more inches of paint. (I like Chevrolet, but there were a few years in the early to mid nineties when the paint jobs "s*ck*d") Oh well...
When I look at my '37 that has been parked for over 50 years outside in harsh winter conditions, ... it is in better shape than my '61! I mean honestly, they don't build 'em like they used to.
