which year front clips fit on a 58-59 1/2 ton.
i can't seem to find any up here but found a 53 3 ton that is solid.(cab and front clip)

all that will fit on any 55-59 is any other year 55-59 - difference in the hood mount holes between 5-7 and 8-9, but otherwise all mounts the same - AD series would be quite different - widen yer search, they're around - I've got a complete 58/9 front layin here for a spare, and individual pieces are kickin around too - the fenders are reproduced now as well, tho not real cheap

By front clip you mean the fenders and hood then the answer is any Task Force series truck from 55.2 to 59 although modifications may be needed to mount the early sheet metal to the later cab.

I won't say the 53 would not work but you would have to make major modifications to mount it to a wider chassis and cab. People would probably question your mental capacities if you were to attempt such a thing as the resulting vehicle would defy most people's opinion of what should or should not be done to an early model Chevrolet truck.

But it is yours to do whatever you want with just don't think the end result will be worthwhile.

okay then would the cab and front clip,bumper etc from a 53 ,3-ton farm truck with steel box,
fit on a 59 1/2 frame using the(59) stepside box,
so i end up with the front of the 53 with the back of a 59..

just a thought. up here in the north everything is rusted to crap except for grain trucks that were only used during the summer - fall months and being higher off the ground etc.

well i havent seen the truck as of yet but will travel out tomttow to snoop around ,,heard the ol guy has a bunch of stuff.will take some pics and measurements ,,i think judjing from the gallery page the fenders are larger etc on these old beasts.

yes, the front fenders will be bigger than those on a 1/2T, and I seriously doubt the cab of an AD would fit on a TF frame - very different frames, and all the sheet metal mounts in a particular way to the frame - especially the front sheet metal mounting, which determines how all the front metal fits to the cab - outta be an old 1.5-3T TF model layin around in the weeds, and all you'd need then is good fenders for 1/2T
