The Stovebolt Site Forums The Shop Area General Truck Talk Motor numbers

Was steaming the engine of my 49 chevy and found these numbers on the right side of the engine. GM - 48 (with a circle around it) then under that 3835253, then under that 18. Where can I find out about them. Thanks - this is my first restore and it's all new to me.

Go to inliners web page and click on "casting #s" and you'll find that number was used from '42-53 on 216 engines.
