A droplight and mirror will help you find the 3 or 4 nuts that hold it on. Ive used a 1/4" drive socket set and one of those flexible nut drivers to loosen the nuts,,get it dropped down where you can label the wires and remove everything. From there its , take off the chrome bezel,,place all your stickers,,and put it back together. Im sure ive left out some small or large details but thats basically how it goes. Oh yeah,,if you lay a pillow or some kinda cushion across your clutch and brake pedals,,it helps alot. First of all, you need to carefully wipe the old gauge face clean...you'll note a flacky residue. I used a little piece of red scrungy pad. Use some alcohol to remove the residue and then add some water! Yup water!
Mix a couple drops of dish detergent in a glass of water, use a q-tip to wet the gauge face surface. The water/soap solution will allow you to use some tweezers to position your new vinyl face under the needle without it sticking in the wrong place. Once you've got it positioned, use another Q-tip to squeege the water and bubbles out from under the decal. Like magic, the vinyl sticks right where you want it, and the bubbles are easily worked out to the edges. Repeat on all the gauge faces and your cluster will look like new. Hope this helps you get it right the first time.

If you recall years ago the Firebird graphic on the hoods, those were done the same way in the factory. One guy on each side of the hood, spray the hood with soapy water, peel the backing off that huge sticky thing, lay it on the hood, slide it into position, the squeegee the soapy water out from under the graphic.
The soap just breaks the surface tension so you get a thin film of water instead of drops. | | |
